In San Francisco and the Bay Area, the real estate market is fiercely competitive and a great realtor can set sellers and buyers apart.
Preparation is the name of the game. That is especially true in the current market environment of low inventory and high buyer demand (read: competition). A good agent communicates with his or her clients, helps them understand the competitive landscape and the property they are considering, has a great network, and helps to meet client goals by setting them apart.
Below are some questions to consider:
How much experience does the realtor possess?
Are they responsive?
Are they knowledgeable?
How do they manage the process – from start to finish?
Do they listen?
What do their previous clients say about them?
And most importantly….
How will they help you stand apart in the real estate marketplace?
Note also that while a particular realtor’s marketing may have captured your attention because their photo shows up all over the place, whether on Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com etc., that generally means they are spending a good amount of money to be in front of you. Unfortunately, this does not mean that they will represent your selling or buying transaction well. So do your homework and evaluate.
